Thursday 25th January we had another visit from the very versatile model and tutor Graham Curry. A man of many faces (costumes and props) treated us to his “Ragged Victorian.” 

Graham led us through studio flash settings, advising on shooting angles and poses. Members came away with lots of images and learnt a great deal from the session. 

Graham’s attention to detail, patience and shared experience is first class. We are sure to have Graham back next year as another character.

Congratulations to Simon Beynon for another set of outstanding images. Both his images scoring an maximum score of 20, claiming 1st and 2nd place . His image image titled “TRIPLE OWLETS” being selected as the Judges Choice in 1st place with his other image titled “HORSE POWER gaining 2nd place.

Three prints sharing 3rd place with a score of 19, were THE FLOUR DANCER by Marj Freeston, “HEY 127” by Barry Smith and “RAILWAY ROOFLINE by Shirley Davis.

Many thanks to David Hollinsworth for Judging our Projected Digital image competition on the 30th November 2023.

45 images submitted on the theme of “Action & Movement”. David had an extremely onerous task of picking out the wining image of his choice from the brilliant set of images on show.

Congratulations goes to Simon Wilkinson for his image titled “MANPOWER” being selected as the Judges Choice as the best image of the night. His mono image of a cyclist, created by the difficult technique of panning, showed the effect of speed and movement to great effect. Also, honorary mention to Simon Beynon and Mike Cantrell for their images titled “IN FLIGHT MEAL” and “POWER SLIDE” respectively. All scoring a maximum score of 20.
